Position Objective:
The Resource Coordinator manages the materials, supplies, equipment, and environment of care within the unit. This includes ordering supplies, processing orders, and assisting with the selection of supplies, equipment and instruments. The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure sufficient equipment and supply availability on each unit. Additionally, this position is responsible for maintaining all unit equipment in working condition. This position is also responsible for conducting unit safety rounds and for resolving any safety or aesthetic environmental problems within the unit. This position supports the Mission of Doctors Community Medical Center through its focus on improving the patient and staff experience.
The Resource Coordinator serves the unit to ensure clinical staff have the necessary resources to meet patient needs such as materials, supply, and equipment processing and maintenance. The Resource Coordinator works closely with the Materials Management, Maintenance, Purchasing, Engineering, Biomed, ED Nursing Leaders, and Environmental Services departments as well as outside vendors and contractors.

Orders stock and special supplies, maintaining inventory levels and keeping records current.Seeks input from ED Leadership to determine need for supplies and equipment. Acts as liaison with sales representatives.Coordinates the evaluation of new equipment and supplies. Arranges in-services for equipment education.Maintains all unit equipment in clean working order and oversees routine maintenance and required quality and preventative maintenance.Conducts unit safety rounds and environment of care rounds and resolves any safety or aesthetic environmental problems within the unit. Assists with Joint Commission readiness.Organizes unit for optimal operational efficiency. Attends all required meetings and is a member and active participant of the ED Management Team.Meets regularly with ED Business Manager and summarizes recommendation for unit resources.Works collaboratively with unit staff nurses in determining unit needs.Works closely with LH DCMC Departments and other clinical areas to optimize supplies and function.Uses learned tactics to promote patient and staff experience.Collaborates with ED Leaders and key personnel to monitor usage of equipment and supplies, assuring that charges are entered correctly for supplies used and supplies are used judiciously.Processes purchase orders and effectively utilizes PeopleSoft for ordering and tracking purchases.Reconciles purchase orders with monthly Expense Reports and ED Business ManagerTracks the usage of rental equipment and ensures that it is returned in an appropriate time frame.Educational/Experience Requirements:
Degree in Health Care field preferred (Relevant experience considered in lieu of degree)Experience in quality improvement processesAbility to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formExposure to systems processingAbility to work collaboratively and accept delegated tasks as assignedAbility to anticipate the needs of the unitCompetency in Word, Excel, Power Point applicationsRequired License/Certifications:
