Our work plays a critical role in communities we serve across Idaho and Oregon, and we’re working hard to safely provide our customers with the reliable, affordable, clean energy they depend on. **What** **does a Seasonal Resource Technician I** **do** **for** **us?** The primary objective of this position is to assist in implementing hydroelectric project license compliance tasks, gathering and entering data, operating, maintaining and repairing infrastructure and equipment, and providing customer service to visitors on company-owned lands and facilities under supervision. Other responsibilities include completing basic information summaries relative to task completion, providing documentation as requested for project activities conducted, and processing data to database(s). In addition to the meaningful work we do, we offer work-life balance, competitive pay and benefits, an employee incentive plan, and both a 401k employer-match and a pension plan, making Idaho Power one of the best employers in the state. **A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE** **Knowledge of:** + Irrigation methods including pressurized and flood systems + Operation and maintenance of equipment related to agricultural or landscape maintenance + Weed control methods + The operation of equipment relevant to specific additional job duties **Skills in:** + Operating equipment necessary for the safe completion of specific additional job duties + Horticultural or agricultural operations + Mechanical and basic electrical + Basic carpentry + Operation of all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), jet boats, and heavy equipment **Ability to:** + Perform physically demanding labor for extended periods of time + Work with minimal direct supervision for limited periods of time + Positively and consistently represent Idaho Power Company during interactions with the public, agency personnel. + Work in teams and function as a team member in field activities + Operate vehicles pulling trailers, and/or other equipment relevant to specific additional job duties **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS** **Education:** + High school diploma or GED or ability to obtain within 3 months of applying **Preferred:** + Associate degree in relevant discipline such as agriculture, natural resources, or trade craft **Experience:** + 3 months of directly related experience **Preferred:** + 3 years of applicable experience **Licenses & Certifications:** + Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position. Ability to obtain licenses or necessary certifications to complete specific additional job duties. + DOT medical card or ability to obtain prior to hire **Preferred:** + Licenses and certifications necessary to complete additional specific job duties (e.g., Idaho or Oregon pesticide applicator’s license) **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS** This position will sit/stand/walk on a frequent to constant basis. Lifting of up to 86 lbs. to waist height, lifting up to 40 lbs. to shoulder height, and lifting up to 10 lbs. overhead is required occasionally. Pushing and pulling up to 60 lbs. is performed occasionally. Stooping/bending, squatting, crouching, and twisting is performed occasionally and kneeling and reaching activities are performed frequently with lawn care, sprinkler repair, cleaning restroom units, and camp site/park maintenance. **ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS** Must be 18 years old. This is a Seasonal position and resumes annually (typically between May and October). No relocation benefits are provided. Internal, regular employees who are successful candidates will be placed as regular employees in a Temporary Duty Assignment job classification. In order for your current position to be held open for the duration of the assignment or filled temporarily, qualified employees must have supervisory approval to participate and have been in their current position for at least six months. **ADDITIONAL INFORMATION** Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends and some holidays.
