 Job Summary: The RCP-Supervisor is expected to demonstrate respect, compassion, and empathy in all patient, family, visitor, and Health Provider interactions. The RCP-Supervisor is responsible for providing basic and advanced Respiratory Care services to neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The Supervisor performs patient assessments then plans, implements, and evaluates the effectiveness of Respiratory Care. He/she is required to deliver respiratory care services to patients in all areas of the hospital including; critical care units, telemetry, medical and surgical floors, emergent care areas, post-anesthesia care units, infant nurseries, pediatrics, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, and the home care environment. The RCP-Supervisor is responsible for the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of all respiratory care procedures. The Supervisor ensures staff schedules are congruent with patient care needs on a daily basis. The Supervisor is expected to perform the duties and responsibilities outlined with minimal oversight and must make independent decisions.

 Minimum Requirements: Licensed by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care. BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and NALS Certification. Demonstrates clinical experience and leadership abilities in the provision of all aspects of Respiratory Care. Five years of supervisory/leadership experience. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and posses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the department's policies and procedures.
