Respirator Fit Test Tech
**Job Description** **Location:** Chicago, IL **Hospital:** RUSH University Medical Center **Department:** Employee Health Service **Work Type:** Full Time (Total FTE between 0.9 and 1.0) **Shift:** **Shift 1** **Work Schedule:** 8 Hr (7:30:00 AM - 4:00:00 PM) **Summary:** The Employee and Corporate Health Services (ECHS) Respiratory Fit Test Technician functions as a member of the ECHS team. Conduct medical screening of employees, students and volunteers who are required to wear Respiratory Protection prior to issue of respiratory protection. Certain health conditions may require the use of alternative respiratory protective devices or restrict employees from wearing such devices. Employees required to wear respiratory protection will receive an annual mask fit test to assure an adequate seal between the wearer's face and the device. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and ICARE values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures. **Other information:** **Required Job Qualifications:** • Previous training on how to perform qualitative and quantitative fit testing along with PAPR training. • Flexible with work hours. • Able to work occasional weekends. • Excellent organizational skills. • Able to work with large groups of people. • Able to complete on a timely basis large amounts of data entry. • Access to available transportation in order to perform testing outside the RUMC campus. • Keep MST Coordinator and ECHS Director informed on progress and any issues. • Able to take on other duties as assigned. **Responsibilities:** 1. Responsible for mobile mask Fit-Test screening. 2. Utilize baseline medical questionnaire conducted by a Licensed Healthcare Practitioner (LHCP) to see if the screened individual meets the fitness requirements to wear respiratory protection. 3. Document mask fit test into the Healthcare Worker/student health file in Employee Coorporate Health Services, can be qualitative or quantitative, depending on the type of respiratory protection worn. 4. Additional fit-testing must be conducted whenever there is a change in the employee's physical condition that could affect respirator fit. This could include: a weight loss or gain of 20 pounds or more, significant facial scaring in the area of the face piece seal, significant dental changes, or reconstructive or cosmetic surgery. **Rush is an equal opportunity employer.
