RESPIRATORY CARE PRACTITIONER TRAINEE
The starting rate for this position is: $27.50/hr Rate of pay displayed reflects the beginning of the pay scale. At the time of an offer, determination of your offer will reflect your skills and experience as it relates to the position. Position Summary: Under the supervision of a Respiratory Therapist with supervisory responsibility who is on-site, the Respiratory Care Practitioner Trainee is responsible for performing treatment, and monitoring procedures as specified in the position specific competencies listed below in accordance with physicians’ orders and department protocols. A trainee may perform the following functions but only while employed in the non-critical care settings (Surgical, Medical, and CPCU) and only while a respiratory care practitioner with supervisory responsibilities of the trainee is on-site: 1. Working knowledge of Vital signs including breath sounds 2. Working knowledge of all oxygen therapy devices including nasal cannula; venti masks, non-rebreathing masks. 3. Working knowledge of pulse oximetry and oxygen rounds 4. Working knowledge of Nebulizer treatment administration 5. Working knowledge of Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI) administration 6. Working knowledge of Bronchial Hygiene Therapy/ Alveolar Recruitment including Incentive spirometry, PEP therapy 7. Working knowledge of Oral suctioning 8. Certified in Basic life support: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) · Manual ventilation and manual compression · Insertion of an oral pharyngeal airway 9. Working knowledge of cleaning, sterilizing , and processing respiratory care equipment 10. Responsible for charting/documentation in a timely manner with licensed practitioner signature 11. Responsible for providing a comprehensive shift report regarding the respiratory care given to each assigned patient and outcomes observed. 12. Responsible for communicating with providers via Doc Halo.
