**Job Summary/Description** The Transport Respiratory Care Practitioner is responsible for the assessment, stabilization, treatment, and transport of patients with acute and chronic illness. This individual is able to ensure the delivery of clinically appropriate procedures within the scope of practice of a RCPII. These procedures are prescribed by the medical physician responsible for the transport. Maintains competency as a Transport RCP and participates in on-shift and/or on-call coverage. The Transport Respiratory Care Practitioner primary role is to transport patients via ground ambulance or air transport, to/from referring centers and inter-facility. The role of a Transport Respiratory Therapist is a 36 hour/week position. • Able to work in the role as a RCP II • All hours worked will not necessarily be spent in the role as a Transport Respiratory Care practitioner . • The Transport Therapist can be assigned the role as Team Leader. • Rotating work schedule (Not subject to every other weekend obligation) **Job Responsiblities:** • Verify daily documentation that all transport equipment, devices, and supplies are functional, clean, and ready to utilize. • Meet and sign-on with the Reach1 nurse and transport team members. • Attend daily critical care rounds • Assist in maintaining minimal par levels of transport supplies. • Attend all expected transport educational curriculum. • Assist in the competency training of RCP transport in training **Minimum Qualifications:** **Education:** completion of an Accredited School of Respiratory Care or equivalent to be licensed. Bachelor Degree Preferred **Experience:** One year of Neonatal/pediatric acute and intensive care experience plus one of the following: 1. Successful completion of BCHO transport training program or 2. One year experience in Neo/Pedi transport program **Required Certificate/License:** Current CA RCP license, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required **Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:** Ability to use sound medical judgments in traumatic situations. Effective communication skills. Ability to use computer systems. Strong organizational and teamwork skills. **Physical Requirements:** • Able to perform CPR. • Able to meet the physical and mobility demands of a transport team member. • Able to lift infant, toddler, and pediatric patients. • Able to lift, push, or pull medical transport equipment. • Able to participate in air and ground transport vehicles
