At the Global Supply Chain (GSC) Ware site, we have a heritage in delivering innovative medicines for diseases like asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), HIV and cancer. Ware is an exhilarating place to work, being the new product introduction site (NPI) for respiratory and oral solid dose medicines. Since 2017, we have proudly supported the launch of over 15 medicines. We are co-located with our R&D colleagues and have recently unveiled a state-of-the-art oral solid dose facility at Ware. Here, scientists, technicians, and engineers from R&D and GSC collaborate using the latest technologies and rapid knowledge transfer to deliver GSK’s most innovative medicines faster and more efficiently. On-site, we produce over 60 million respiratory inhalers each year, with growing demand in the future. The site also processes Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) for use both on-site and at other manufacturing sites in our network. The Respiratory Execution Team Director is accountable for leading the Respiratory and Micronising MSAT Team GSC Ware. They will collaborate with other sites and Global MSAT to control and continuously improve product performance through Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). They are responsible for managing lifecycle changes, regulatory changes, API / excipient changes, productivity improvements and procurement must-wins. They are also responsible for daily product problem-solving and providing dose form-specific expertise working closely with the Value Stream Management Team. In this role you will: Leads the Product Lifecycle Management (Technical Risk Assessment, Product Control Strategies, Validation, Process Robustness Assessment) for GSC Ware Responsible for managing the team to deliver Product Lifecycle Management at Ware; this includes owning the Cost Of Waste for the site (currently ~£16m). Co-Leading the global PTRT for RSC to ensure aligned strategy for the organisation on platform and process capability. Responsible for ensuring that core MSAT business processes are implemented for all products currently at and transferred to GSC Ware. Matrix leadership across R&D, Technical, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Packaging & Logistics to support product control strategy translation to shop floor, utilizing the principles of the GSK Production System (GPS). Provide MSAT leadership for the rapid resolution of technical issues impacting supply and product performance investigations through use of root cause analysis (RCA) tools and appropriate Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPA) and escalate key site technical issues to the wider GSC MSAT community for timely resolution. Required Qualifications and experience: Degree qualified in a Scientific or Engineering discipline Considerable demonstrated experience in a leadership role Experience in leading MSAT/technical teams and delivering solutions in Manufacturing or at R&D/Manufacturing Interface Strong experience in Product Lifecycle Management Project Management principles and delivery EHS experience Team leadership and development expertise Preferred Qualifications and experience: Masters or PHD qualification in a relevant discipline Digital Data Analytics experience Exposure to Inspection readiness and Pre Approval Inspections Regulatory dossier update experience Ability to use and interpret data to drive decision making at both tactical and strategic level Proven capabilities in enabling and driving change, delivering solutions, developing people, and building relationships across multiple interfaces and in a matrix environment We make and supply medicines and vaccines all around the globe and our teams own every production stage, from creating quality products at our manufacturing sites to designing effective supply forecasting and regulatory inspections; all powered by digital, data and analytics.
