Respiratory Technician (Wage)

The Respiratory Technician is responsible operational and patient care tasks related to the availability and readiness of supplies/equipment as well as providing assistance to a Registered Respiratory Therapists with specific patient procedures.
+ Retrieve and perform disinfection, assembly, calibration, performance check and troubleshooting of respiratory equipment in accordance with manufacturer and regulatory guidelines.
+ Documents safety checks, calibrations and equipment readiness for use.
+ Transport items requiring high level disinfection or sterilization to Sterile Processing according to organizational policies.
+ Ensures oxygen cylinders are stored per regulatory and hospital guidelines.
+ Transports malfunctioning equipment to Clinical Engineering.
+ Deliver supplies and ready for use equipment
+ Monitors non-stock supplies and collaborates with administrative specialist/designee to maintain sufficient levels of inventory.
+ Monitors stand-by equipment and redistributes as necessary to support patient care
+ Adhere to Infection Prevention regulatory guidelines
+ Other duties as assigned
Position Compensation Range: $15.00 - $19.39 Hourly
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent
Experience: No experience required
Licensure: American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently walking and bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
