The mission of Correctional Managed Care is to address the healthcare needs of underserved patient populations within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD).
JOB SUMMARY:
Provides direction over the respiratory activities of a hospital or clinic area.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Plans, coordinates, and directs the respiratory therapy function for a major hospital or clinic area. Assigns personnel as required. Identifies staffing and equipment requirements. Trains and evaluates personnel and maintains written personnel files. Performs blood gas analysis and pulmonary function tests. Participates in patient rounds. Assists in research. Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure established for the department. Performs related duties as required.EQUIPMENT:
Standard respiratory therapy equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Standard hospital or clinic environment. Located within the confines of a prison, jail or juvenile detention center.
Security clearance is required; pre-employment drug testing is also required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Graduation from an approved school of Respiratory Therapy. Three (3) years related experience. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) and Certified Respiratory Therapy Tech (CRTT).Salary is commensurate with years of relevant work experience.
