Respiratory Therapist 2 (Career) - UCLA West Valley Medical Center
Description As a Respiratory Therapist at UCLA West Valley Medical Center, you will have access to the absolute latest technology and treatments for the care of your patients. With the possibility of working anywhere in the health system, you'll handle clinical situations ranging from the routine to the highly complex for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. Assignments include all critical care areas, Emergency Department, medical floors, Operating Room and intensive care units. Perform routine and complex Respiratory Therapy for adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients. Salary: $48.09- $63.44 Hourly Qualifications Educational Requirements: + Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy or similar + Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or similar preferred + Registered or Registry Eligible by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) Licenses/Certifications: + RCP State License-in the state of California + Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) (American Heart Association only) + Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) + Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS) + Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS/ALS) preferred + Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred Physical Demands: + Must be able to lift and carry 35 lbs. + Must be able to physically roll a 100 lb., horizontally positioned patient + Must be able to stand and/or walk 75% of the 12-hour workday + Must be able to sit, push, kneel, crouch, and reach for extended periods of time + Must have skill in performing routine pulmonary function test + Must have familiarity and knowledge of handling: Blood Gas Machines, Exercise Systems, and other types of equipment routinely found in pulmonary function laboratory + Must possess oral and written communication skills sufficient to communicate with colleagues, administrators, patients, visitors, staff, faculty, physicians, and on-site servicemen Experience: + 3 years preferred UCLA Health welcomes all individuals, without regard to race, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, national origin or disabilities, and we proudly look to each person’s unique achievements and experiences to further set us apart.
