Aspirus is seeking a RESPIRATORY THERAPIST to work 72 hours every two weeks on the night shift.

In this role you will provide respiratory and cardiopulmonary monitoring, diagnostics and therapy services under medical direction to patients in a variety of care environments. Assist in orientation training of hospital staff, students and the public regarding respiratory disease and care. Provide respiratory care to patients of all ages, including neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Interpret patient information and understands treatment needs depending on the age of patients under care. Whenever applicable, demonstrate an understanding of the needs of specific age groups in terms of their physical and motor development, psychosocial development and intellectual/language development.

This position has the option to split rotational shifts with secondary Aspirus Critical Access Hospital Locations: Plover or Merrill, WI. By doing this, you will gain knowledge and skill set of an advanced practice Respiratory Therapist at a fast-paced tertiary care center, and also work in a slower paced smaller facility, the best of both worlds. Plover and Merrill have active ED’s with 20-40 visits a day with a vital RT presence 24-hrs a day.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of respiratory care standards and protocols normally acquired through graduation from an AMA approved school of Respiratory Care with an Associate Degree.ACLS beneficial. Acceptable certification is the American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support Provider Course or the American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support Provider Course including a hands-on skills practice session with an AHA ACLS or PALS instructor or by using a voice assisted manikin (VAM) system.

LICENSURE

An active Wisconsin Respiratory Care Practitioner license required.Registered RRT by the National Board of Respiratory Care, or registry eligible and obtained within one year of hire.Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.

HOURS

0.9 full-time, 72 hours every 2 weeks, Night shifts: 6:30pm - 7am, every 3rd weekend, 2 holidays per year rotation.Shift differentials pay for PM, Night, and weekend shifts.
