Respiratory Therapist

JOB SUMMARY
Provides respiratory therapy services for inpatient and outpatient services for WhidbeyHealth Medical Center according to NBRC and AARC and Washington State OH guidelines.
PRINCIPLE FUNCTIONS include the following, other duties may be assigned:
+ Validates a complete and accurate providers order. Communicates with provider in the event of inaccurate or incomplete information.
+ Ensures proper operation of equipment and takes appropriate action in the event of abnormalities.
+ Prepares the RT exam suite with all supplies and equip necessary for patient exam.
+ Performs pre and post patient interactions and explanation according to AIDET standards and department policies. Completes patient identification process.
+ Completes patient procedure, and reports and provides repot copy to HIM and Provider. Immediately notifies providers for abnormalities.
+ Disinfect, restock supplies in accordance with department Policies and procedures.
+ Assesses ventilator cases in accordance with providers and offers RT solutions and suggestions for optimal patient outcomes as needed.
+ Responds and assists with rapid response and code blue alerts in accordance with department policies and procedures.
JOB KNOWLEDGE & QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Graduate of accredited Respiratory Therapy Programs OR has passed the NBRC Entry-level licensure test.
Must have a current Washington State license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner. Must have current BLS card. Must have current ACLS card. Must have current NRP card.
Training and Experience
One year experience as a Respiratory Therapist required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Current WA state licensure.

Wage Range: $31.027 - $57.020
