A sleep technologist works under the general supervision of the medical director or designee to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders including in center and home sleep apnea testing, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. A sleep technologist is credentialed in sleep technology and is able to provide oversight of other sleep center staff. Technicians and trainees work under the direct supervision of the credentialed sleep technologist or the medical director.\n

Roles and Responsibilities:\n\nPatient care\nSleep study preparation and set-up\nSleep study procedures\nTechnologist training\nResolves patient problems and performs quality checks\nService management an essential skills\nMeet quality assurance standards which includes monthly ISR\nIs flexible in assuming other appropriate responsibilities not noted above.\n\n

Required Skills and Experience:\n\nEducation: Graduate of associate degree in sleep technology and\/or respiratory therapy emphasis in sleep technology.\nCurrent certification by a nationally recognized certification board and holds either the Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT), or Sleep Disorders Specialist (SDS) credential.\nLicensure: Current license in the State of New York\nCurrent BLS\n\n

Preferred Skills and Experience:\n\nExperience: 1-2 years preferred as a registered technologist, but not required\n\n

Physical Requirements:\n\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and talk or hear. \nThe employee is occasionally required to walk; sit; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. \nThe employee must regularly lift and\/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and\/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and\/or move up to 50 pounds. \nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.\n\n

Location and Travel Requirements:\n\nOnsite\n\n

Pay Range Disclosure:\n\n$38.00 to $48.00 per hour\n\n
