Job Summary Please note this role requires greater than 5 years of pediatric/Critical Care experience as well as: RRT BLS PALS/NRP Preferred but will train Rotating hours No weekends No Holidays contingent on patient acuity levels Occasional on-call back up for Manager The Respiratory Therapy Therapist will assess patient's condition and evaluates all data to determine the appropriateness of the prescribed respiratory care. They participate in the development and delivery of the respiratory care plan in accordance with department policies and procedures. In addition, this position is responsible to overseeing all aspects of Respiratory Care shift operation including the following: Calculate workload multiple times during the shift and assign or reassign staff as per the department protocol, is responsible to be a clinical resource and responding to calls/pages from staff therapist and other disciplines in the hospital that are requiring help and guidance. Ventilator management, oxygen therapy, specialty gas administration, aerosolized medication therapy, chest physiotherapy, blood gas analysis, patient care assessment, multi-disciplinary team collaboration, Report directly to the Department Manager.
