Job Summary: Provides cardiac and pulmonary rehab services including patient assessment, treatment plan development, exercise instruction, patient education, and outcome measures per professional standards and regulatory guidelines. Performs cardiac monitoring, 12 lead EKG and performs standardized testing such as stress test and 6-minute walk tests. Participates in development of clinical protocols and programming to ensure continuous quality improvement. Communicate patient outcomes and clinical needs to other medical rehab team members, physicians, and other customers. Provides care in the most effective, efficient, patient focused manner.
Qualifications: Graduate of an approved respiratory therapy program, licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) in the state of North Carolina. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required. One year of experience required. Considerable knowledge of pulmonary and cardiac rehab. Demonstrates strong understanding of medical terminology and practice standards and regulations. Ability to deal tactfully with patients, physicians, and other hospital staff. Must be able to demonstrate problem solving skills, handle emergencies, and have time management skills. BLS and ACLS required.
