**Are you looking to pick up extra shifts as a Respiratory Therapist?** **As a Respiratory Therapist, at Merit Health Madison, you'll play a vital role in doing what you do best-providing quality care to our patients!** **The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for:** + Assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. + Collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases. + Also measures the lung capacity of a patient to determine if there is an impairment. + Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. + Performs a variety of tasks. + A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. + Typically reports to a manager. + Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. **Education/License/Certification:** + An Associate's degree from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program is required. + A credential of Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). + A current Respiratory Therapist license issued by the state of Mississippi. + Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are a requirement. (NRP and PALS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.) **Experience/Skills:** + Seasoned experience in Ventilators, High Flow O2 and BiPAP is a must. + Cerner charting experience is a plus. + Must possess a positive attitude and good time management skills. + Must be confident working independently. + Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. **About the Job:** + We are seeking a seasoned therapist that has experience working alone at times or is confident enough to do so when asked to. We have a 67 bed facility including : ICU, ER, Med Surg.
