One year of acute Respiratory Therapy Services is preferred. + A credential of Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). + A Respiratory Therapist License issued by the state of Mississippi. + Current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) are a requirement. (NRP and PALS within 90 days of hire.) + Experience in Ventilators, High Flow O2 and BiPAP is a must. + Cerner charting experience is a plus. Must possess a positive attitude and good time management skills. + Must be available to work weekends and holidays when needed. **Duties Include:** + Assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. + Collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases. + Proper assessment, observation and monitoring of signs and symptoms, general behavior, and general physical response to Respiratory Care treatments and diagnostic testing. + The Respiratory Therapist will recommend and initiate appropriate respiratory care procedures and protocols based on observed abnormalities, implement changes in treatment pursuant to the written or verbal orders of a physician. + Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care deliver to achieve desired outcomes. + The Respiratory Therapist must have the ability to assess and initiate emergency procedures. **About Merit Health Biloxi:** **We know it’s not just about finding a job.
