SUMMARY:
Respiratory Therapist works in a fast-paced Inpatient and Outpatient Respiratory Therapy and Pulmonary Rehab Departments. Position works with a variety of age groups from newborn to geriatric populations. Shows genuine commitment to compassionate care of patients at Lakes Regional Healthcare and demonstrates effective working relationships with hospital staff, physicians, the public and outside agencies. Performs daily floor therapies, responds to all codes, providing airway management as needed and performs diagnostic testing as ordered by the physician in a timely manner. Assists in the performance of daily clerical, clinical and diagnostic duties associated with Respiratory Care including scheduling and performing Respiratory Care procedures as ordered by the Medical Staff. Consults with and keeps Respiratory Care Supervisor informed of the department’s activities with regard to patient care.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate. Graduate from an accredited Respiratory Care Program and either registered or registry eligible by the National Board of Respiratory Care with experience preferred.
CERTIFICATION and LICENSURE:
Maintains Iowa State License for Respiratory Care Practitioner. Certification in BLS, ACLS, PALS & NRP and current certification in Mandatory Reporter of Dependent Adult and Child Abuse Reporting or willingness to obtain according to Education Policy.
