Responsibilities
We are seeking a Respiratory Therapist (PRN), internally referred to as our Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) at St Joseph Medical Center a member of Prime Healthcare. The Respiratory Therapist, also known as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP II), plays a crucial role in the care and management of patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. They assist patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions in achieving optimal respiratory function and improving their quality of life. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PRN.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):
will provide treatments such as inhalation therapies, oxygen therapy, and aerosol medications to help patients breathe more easilyconduct tests such as pulmonary function tests (PFT), bedside bronchoscopy, and arterial blood gas analysis to assess lung capacity and gas exchange in patientsset up, monitor, and adjust ventilators and other life-supporting equipment for patients who cannot breathe independentlymember of the rapid response team and code blue team in emergencies, which you will provide airway management, assist intubations, and resuscitate patients in critical situationsassess patients' respiratory status, monitor their progress, and make adjustments to treatment plans as neededensure that all respiratory equipment is properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained to prevent infections and ensure patient safety QualificationsEducation and Work Experience
State Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) License requiredcurrent BCLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain currentRegistered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification from the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) required2 years experience as an RCP preferredACLS certificate within 60 day of hire and maintain currentNRP certificate preferredPALS certificate within 60 days of hire and maintain currentAssociate Degree or Bachelor of Science degree preferredhigh school diploma or equivalent is required
