Preview a day in the life of a Respiratory Therapist at IU Health.
This position provides shift coordination and accountability through leadership, supervision. Maintains continuity of care through accurate shift reports, appropriate distribution of staff resources, participation in performance assessment and improvements, and review of equipment and supply management. Participates in the delivery of comprehensive hospital based respiratory care services within a collaborative, multidisciplinary patient care team approach. This position maintains proficiency in neonatal, pediatric, and adult care techniques, as appropriate.

Full-time Benefit eligible role Working 2 twelve hour shifts Saturday-Sunday and 1 twelve hour shift Monday-FridayRequirements:
• Requires current licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner from the state of Indiana.
• Requires graduation from a CoARC (Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) and regionally accredited respiratory care program.
• Requires that the N.B.R.C. registry exam be passed within 13 months of hire date.
• Requires Healthcare Provider BLS. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
• Preferred ACLS; PALS; and/or NRP certification. RRT;RCP;BLS RPSGT;RRT-NPS;SDS Requires 3-5 years experience in Respiratory Care.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member.
• Independent judgment and the ability to facilitate integration of evidence based information into practice.
