We are looking for a dedicated Respiratory Therapy Coordinator like you to be a part of our team. **Job Summary and Qualifications** Provides direction and assistance for employees in the Respiratory Care Department while working on a given shift. May also provide direction and oversight to one or more of the following specialty areas: Sleep Disorders Center, Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program, NICU, or NICU/PICU. Manages the department in the absence of the Technical Director. SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS + Maintains CPR certificate. + Maintains license requirements. + Maintains NBRC credentials for Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist + Assists with planning, coordination and supervision of the Respiratory technical staff during the scheduled shift. May also provide direction and oversight to one or more of the following specialty areas: Sleep Disorders Center, Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program, NICU, or NICU/PICU. + Assigns work load and monitors clinical staff on a daily basis. Documents when necessary any variations that occur from established policy and procedure. + Develops work schedule for area of supervision. Monitors schedule on a daily basis to maximize/minimize staffing to meet patient care needs. + Takes call, providing technical support for respiratory staff, emergency staff coverage and problem solving. + Performs routine and emergency patient care services as needed to meet departmental needs. + Acts as consultant for patient care concerns from staff, nursing and physicians. Acts as liaison between staff, nurses and physicians. + Supervises and participates in the process of new employee orientation and provides input into the interviewing, hiring, and selection process of new hires. + Demonstrates understanding of the operation and maintenance of the blood gas machines by solving moderate to complex operational problems. + Participates in staff level employee appraisal process and provides employee feedback and counseling as needed. + Shares responsibility for logging payroll hours into the KRONOS system. + Assists in an ongoing staff inservice program. + Assists with departmental CQI program and provides input into the yearly review of departmental policies and procedures. + Assists with development, establishment and implementation of policy and procedures, including Therapist Driven Protocols. + Performs basic operations and troubleshooting procedures on the Meditech system. + Responsible for ordering departmental operational supplies and assists Director with inventory control. + Performs arterial puncture and blood gas analysis. + Supervises and participates in the routine maintenance of equipment ensuring proper functioning of all therapeutic and emergency equipment. + Assists director in development and maintenance of operational and capital budgets. **What qualifications you will need:** **EDUCATION:** + High School Graduate and Graduate Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) - Required + Bachelors and/or Graduate Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Preferred **EXPERIENCE:** + Required: Minimum of two years critical care experience. - Required + Preferred: Two years of supervisory experience in an active department. - Preferred **LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:** + Required: Virginia Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner + Maintain NBRC credentials for Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist + BLS Course Certification CJW Medical Center (http://www.cjwmedical.com/) is comprised of Chippenham Hospital and Johnston-Willis Hospital.
