Respiratory Therapy Supervisor Night

The Respiratory Care Supervisor supports the department through oversight of therapist workflow, participating in quality improvement projects, inventory and records maintenance, and the recruiting, training, retention, supervision, and development of our team members.

Shift: Night Shift 

Hours: 36 Hours Per Week 7:00PM to 7:00AM with Weekends and Holidays 

Location: Inova Alexandria Hospital 

Knowledge Skills and Capabilities: 

Leads committees. Leads one quality/process improvement project using Lean Methodology.  Clinical skills + Quality assurance skills.  Relief charge and precepting experience.

Job Responsibilities:

Adapts staffing and resource allocation to maximize care and minimize problems/complications. Ensures that equipment and supplies are ordered and maintained to provide all department services. Conducts performance evaluations with coordination and approval from the Manager and/or Director. Manages team member performance using routine feedback and can give corrective action (e.g., verbal and or written progressive discipline if needed when coordinated with the Manager and/or Director. Participates in quality improvement projects and provides team with timely coaching on decision making, best practices, and performance. Coordinates, facilitates, and monitors training of new team members. As needed, RT supervisor can act as a primary trainer for new department procedures, onboarding, and cross-training.

     

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited CoARC (The Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) respiratory care program. Five Years of critical care or advanced respiratory experience  BLS from AHA Upon Start   RRT Upon Start  Certified in two advanced certs (acls, pals, nrp) or one advanced cert and one specialized (aec, copd, scc, etc) relevant to department operations, must be obtained within one year from date of hire.  Valid license from the commonwealth of Virginia as a RT
