Respiratory Therapy Tech - PRN
Responsible and accountable for the administration of floor based Respiratory Care as validated by approved competency skills checklist provided by the accredited Respiratory Care Program and for appropriate documentation in the medical record of the therapy provided under the guidance and check off of a staff Respiratory Therapist. Requires knowledge of behaviors, developmental stages, physical and emotional needs, life cycle changes, culture, comfort and care appropriate to the population served. This position maintains proficiency in adult care techniques as applicable and within the scope of the student work permit/license and validated competencies. The Associate in this job description must be willing and able to carry out and complete the duties, responsibilities, requirements and tasks of the Respiratory Therapist Tech job description, as deemed appropriate to the procedures approved under the student work permit/licensure, the facility and administration. The Associate is expected to work within the established standards of practice, regulatory agency license requirements, applicable laws or regulations, The Joint Commission and other accrediting bodies. **Education/Certs:** + Requires current admission in an accredited Respiratory Care Program. + Requires proficient status in competency skills checked off and validated by the Respiratory Care program director/chair on the student license application. + Must have a Student Work Permit/License in Respiratory Care for the State of Indiana. + Requires certification in Basic Life Support. Certification must be maintained according to the department policy and procedures.
