Position Summary
The technician trainee under the guidance of the Supervisor, Department Director/Manager, and Medical Director performs the duties necessary to give patients adequate ventilation by use of medical gases and breathing equipment in accordance with age specific and culturally appropriate patient care guidelines.
Minimum Requirements
Education
High School diploma or equivalent Must be currently enrolled as a full-time Respiratory Therapy programExperience
Must complete form in house training in Respiratory therapy ProceduresLicenses/Certifications/Registrations
Current Certification in BLS
Preferred Requirements
Preferred Education
Have completed a semester of clinicals through Respiratory Therapy ProgramPreferred Experience
Knowledge and skill base of delivering Respiratory medications and performing general Respiratory proceduresPreferred Licenses/Certifications/Registrations

Core Job Responsibilities
Must be able to withstand the stress of doing cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Must be able to withstand long hours of standing, walking, stooping, bending and sitting. Must be able to lift or move patients and equipment used. Must be able to push / pull force up to 55 pounds. Must be able to respond calmly and efficiently in crisis situation. Must be able to work as a team member with peers, other department managers and staff and administration. Average manual dexterity to reach, manipulate, move, etc., equipment and hearing and vision within or correctable to normal range. Perform care in a manner that supports the Regional Respect philosophy.
