The Senior GL Accountant will work as a Responsible Finance Manager (RFM) in the R2R team leading the accounting and reporting activities for Latin America (LAM) entities within the Shared Service Center (SSC). This role ensures the delivery of accurate, timely, and compliant financial information, while managing the complexity of regional statutory requirements and corporate reporting standards.
RFM provides strategic oversight, drives operational excellence, and acts as the key liaison between SSC operations, local LAM finance teams, and global stakeholders. By leveraging strong leadership, process knowledge, and cultural awareness, this role ensures high-quality service delivery while continuously improving R2R processes.
Job Responsibilities· Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities for LAM entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness.
· Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and provisions.
· Ensure alignment with IFRS, corporate accounting policies, and local GAAP requirements in LAM countries.
· Ensure accurate and timely posting of journal entries, accruals, and reclassifications.
· Checking and analyzing SAP details on an ongoing basis to be able to catch any potential posting errors or process issues.
· Intercompany and loan reconciliations, analyze variances and initiate corrective actions.
· Prepare and review financial statements and management reports, ensuring accuracy and alignment with reporting timelines.
· Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts and tax filings as needed.
· Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate cost accounting and inventory valuation.
· Act as the main contact for auditors (internal and external), ensuring effective management of audit requests and statutory reporting deadlines.
· Strengthening internal control frameworks adapted to the SSC and LAM operations.
· Ensure timely communication of financial issues that may impact business performance.
· Drive standardization and harmonization of R2R processes across LAM entities.
· Implement automation tools and process improvements tailored to SSC operations.
· Partner with finance transformation teams to adopt global best practices while addressing regional complexities.
· Providing work leadership to medium and lower-level accounting personnel on complex assignments.
· Provide financial insights and variance analysis to regional leadership teams.
· Build strong relationships with FP&A, Tax, and Treasury to support business needs across the LAM region.
Background & Skills· Bachelor’s degree in accounting
· 7–10 years of progressive experience in finance/accounting, with at least 3 years managing LAM entities in a Shared Service Center (SSC) environment.
· Strong understanding of Latin American statutory, tax, and reporting requirements (preferred).
· Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory controls, and capital asset accounting.
· Advanced knowledge in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms.
· Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
· Proven knowledge of IFRS and/or local GAAP.
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, proactivity and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines with a high sense of responsibility.
· Teamwork and ability to work in a changing environment with different cultures.
· Excellent stakeholder management and bilingual/multilingual skills (English + Spanish).
· Good skills (B2) in spoken and written English as must.
· Outstanding attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work with deadlines and stress situations.
· Willingness to learn and increase responsibilities.
· Experience leading automation, simplification, and standardization initiatives.
Preferred Requirements
· A good knowledge of another European language would be an asset.
· Master’s degree in accounting or Finance.
· Experience in a multinational manufacturing environment or a global shared service center.
· Working knowledge of costing methodologies, such as standard costing, activity-based costing (ABC), or product lifecycle costing.
· Hands-on experience in SAP S/4HANA.
· Proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI) for financial reporting and operational insights.
