What will I be doing?
\n\nA Restaurant Chef Organizes and participates in the daily operation of the restaurant kitchen area. Manages restaurant cooks and stations to provide exceptional quality and presentation outlet menu items. Maintains sanitation, staff training, and stations to restaurant standards.
\n\n\n\n
Organizes and maintains work areas, cooler and pantry storage for restaurant.
\n\n\n\tFamiliar with and enforces food safety and health guidelines. \n\tProvides input for creation of restaurant and bar menus.\n\tCompletes daily food production sheets and other reports. \n\tChecks all stations to ensure proper setup, cleaning, stocked to forecasted business, and take down before, during, and after each shift. \n\tAssists in quarterly inventories and ensures inventory is used “first in, first out” to avoid spoilage. \n\tInspects ingredients upon delivery and before use to ensure quality. \n\tOrganizes frequent cleaning and sanitation of work areas, cooler, and pantry storage. \n\tClean and sanitize kitchen equipment, report malfunctioning equipment to Engineering. \n\n\n\n\n
Manages kitchen staff.
\n\n\n\tRelays feedback of restaurant employees to department manager. \n\tTrains kitchen staff. \n\tLeads periodic meetings with restaurant stewards and cooks to coach on new recipes and kitchen processes. \n\tWorks with Executive Chef to schedule restaurant cooks, stewards, and other kitchen staff for appropriate coverage. \n\tConducts interviews with potential hires upon request. \n\n\n\n\n
Prepares and inspects food to maintain quality standards.
\n\n\n\tInspect orders to ensure the temperature, quality, presentation, and portion size meets restaurant standards. \n\tAssists in cutting meat, preparing food and stocking restaurant workstations. \n\tShares food and beverage complaints with Executive Chef and works to resolve. \n\tParticipates in vendor and outlet food tastings. \n\n\n\n\n
Works with other departments to efficiently operate restaurant kitchen.
\n\n\n\tMaintains current and seasonal recipes for menu items. \n\tAware and informed about hotel events which impact restaurant and food inventory. \n\tReports special requests, food spoilage, and other restaurant kitchen concerns to Executive Chef. \n\tAttends Banquet Event Order (BEO) meetings when clients will utilize restaurant for meals or events. \n\tAttends stand-up, safety, and other periodic meetings in Executive Chef’s absence. \n\tResponds quickly and accurately to requests for special accommodations (allergies, non-menu dishes) for guests, groups, and events. \n\n\n\n\n
Supportive Functions:
\n\n\n\tPerforms any general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products as assigned by supervisor. Keep floors dry and clean to avoid slip/fall accidents. \n\tPerforms other duties as requested, such as moving supplies and equipment, cleaning up unexpected spills. \n\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\tChef de Partie, Demi Chef de Partie, Round Cook, Cook and Assistant Cook.\n\n\n\n\n
Required Qualifications and Certificates:
\n\n\n\tExcellent oral and written communication skills in English, Spanish, Dutch and Papiamento.\n\tEducation: Secondary Vocational (Educacion Profesional Intermedio) or equivalent\n\tLicense/ Certificates: Health Card (Green Card) and Proof of Civid-19 Vaccine is mandatory (Please upload this on your application)\n\tYears of related experience: 3-5 \n\tYears of supervisory experience: 3\n\tManagement or supervisory experience type: Supervisory \n\tProficient in use of Microsoft Office.\nWhat are we looking for?
