Restaurant Food Runner

 Food Runners will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service to all guests that is consistent and continually in accordance with the Luminary Hotel & Co. service standards and standards of Mainsail Lodging & Development.

Position: Oxbow Bar & Grill – Food Runner

Location: Fort Myers, FL

Reports to: Oxbow Bar & Grill General Manager, Assistant General Manager, and/or Supervisor

Status: Non-Exempt

Job Summary:

Food Runners will be responsible for ensuring exceptional service to all guests that is consistent and continually in accordance with the Luminary Hotel & Co. service standards and standards of Mainsail Lodging & Development. 

Essential Functions

Thorough knowledge of Oxbow Bar & Grill steps of service and guest interaction.Serves guests in an efficient courteous manner following the proper steps of serviceResponsible for setting tables, serving food orders and removing used plate ware and utensilsFood running when applicable, ability to carry plates that may be warm or hotAbility to handle station, or when situations arise, ability to let manager/supervisor know ahead of time so as not to affect the guest experiencePolish glass ware, utensils, organize clean and soiled linenPerform other duties as management requests to service our guestsFollow Covid-19 guidelines

Qualification Standards

Education & Experience

High School diploma or higherPrevious hospitality experience requiredExcellent customer service skillsExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenAbility to use technology e.g. tablets, iPads 

Physical Demands

Ability to lift 20 pounds or moreAbility to sit or stand for extended periods of timeAbility to communicate clearlyCorrected vision to normal rangeAbility to work long hours as neededAbility to navigate steps to upstairs event space as well as upstairs deck

NOTICE:  The hotel business functions seven days a week, 24 hours a day.  All employees must realize this fact and be aware that at all times it may be necessary to move associates from their accustomed shift as business demands.  In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
