The resort was named the “Jewel of the Desert” since its opening on February 23, 1929. This gorgeous 39-acre property reopened in May 2021 after undergoing a $150 million restoration and has over 700 rooms, over 200,000 square feet in banquet space, and 8 food and beverage outlets (including 2 restaurants, 2 bars, 2 poolside bars, a gelato shop/café, and in-room dining). As a Restaurant General Manager you will be responsible for the management, direction and organization of restaurant operations to maintain high standards of food and beverage quality, service and marketing to maximize profits through outstanding customer service. Operational Management: Oversee daily operations of the three-meal restaurant and in-room dining service, ensuring seamless and efficient execution. Maintain high standards of food quality, service, cleanliness, and overall guest experience. Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop seasonal menus, optimize kitchen operations, and maintain food cost control. Monitor room service operations, ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment with attention to presentation and guest preferences. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and food handling regulations. Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for service efficiency and consistency. Financial & Business Management: Develop and manage budgets, revenue goals, and cost-control measures. Monitor financial performance, analyze reports, and implement strategies to improve profitability. Oversee pricing strategies, menu engineering, and promotional events to drive sales. Manage labor costs, staff scheduling, and productivity. Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, train, and lead a team of restaurant servers, room service attendants, hosts, and support staff. Foster a positive, professional, and guest-focused work environment. Conduct regular staff training on service standards, upselling techniques, and guest engagement. Perform performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and mentorship. Guest Experience & Service Excellence: Ensure an elevated and seamless dining experience for guests, both in the restaurant and through room service. Handle guest inquiries, feedback, and service recovery in a professional and timely manner. Work closely with the front office and concierge teams to accommodate VIP requests, special dietary needs, and personalized experiences. Monitor guest satisfaction metrics and implement strategies to enhance service quality. Marketing & Promotions: Collaborate with the marketing team to create and promote dining events, seasonal offerings, and room service specials. Analyze market trends and guest preferences to enhance restaurant and in-room dining experiences. Utilize guest engagement tools, loyalty programs, and social media to drive reservations and revenue. Qualifications Experience: Minimum 5+ years in restaurant and/or room service management, preferably in a resort or luxury hotel setting. Education: Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business, or a related field (preferred). Leadership: Strong ability to lead, train, and motivate a diverse team. Financial Acumen: Experience managing budgets, P&L statements, and cost control measures. Guest-Focused: Passion for delivering an exceptional hospitality experience. Problem-Solving: Strong decision-making skills with the ability to handle high-pressure situations. Knowledgeable: Deep understanding of restaurant operations, menu development, and food & beverage trends. Tech-Savvy: Proficiency with POS systems, scheduling software, and hospitality management tools.
