Job Description
Restaurant Manager, Q at Fairmont Empress
This position will oversee the operation of the hotel’s newest restaurant and bar. The hotel completed an extensive renovation in 2017, which included the re-launch of an 80-seat restaurant with a 70-seat bar and 60-seat patio. Your leadership ability infused with your passion for all things F&B will lead you to provide the highest quality service, bringing the overall concept to life and placing our new restaurants and lounges on the map as the “Hottest Places in Town”.

Work closely with the Director of Restaurants at Fairmont Empress to execute the smooth and flawless operation of both the Front and Heart of House (inclusive of restaurant and kitchen)Ensure optimal performance by being a presence on the floor to support and lead the team to deliver service excellenceDrive revenue and profit through the development and implementation of strategies, practices and promotions while in keeping with the overall conceptHandle guest concerns and react quickly and professionallyAssist in the recruitment and training of F&B ColleaguesBalance operational, administrative and Colleague needsConduct regularly scheduled departmental meetingsMaximize revenues by communicating regularly with the Food and Beverage teams to implement agreed upon strategies, practices and promotionsHave full knowledge of all Outlet menusManage the departmental budgetFollow outlet policies, procedures and service standardsFollow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverageOther duties as assignedQualifications
Your experience and skills include:
Three years of previous Food and Beverage leadership experience requiredPrevious Point of Sale System experience requiredExceptional knowledge of wine & spirits requiredComputer literate in Microsoft Window applications requiredUniversity/College degree in a related discipline preferredExcellent communication and organizational skillsStrong interpersonal and problem solving abilitiesHighly responsible & reliableAbility to work well under pressure in a fast paced environmentAbility to work cohesively as part of a teamAbility to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all timesAdditional Information
