KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The Restaurant Manager is responsible for consistently exceeding defined targets for Dining Room, Alternative Dining, and Buffet areas by fostering a personalized, guest and teammate-focused culture, while reducing friction points and mitigating negative surprises. The manager will ensure that food service teammates in the assigned dining location act as company ambassadors, maintaining a positive and professional demeanor at all times. You will actively promote and ensure the integration of Princess MedallionClass products, services, and applications throughout the team to enhance guest engagement and drive a seamless experience. As a leader, you will understand, lead, and advocate for the experience ownership concept within the assigned venue, promptly addressing any product delivery shortfalls that could negatively impact the guest experience, and communicating with leadership when needed. The role also involves reviewing guest feedback from various sources such as the Service Excellence platform, comment cards, letters, and onboard surveys. You will monitor trends, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventative actions as necessary. Additionally, you will take full ownership of any negative service interactions, ensuring timely, effective, and personalized service recovery, documenting and escalating as required. You will ensure that teammates dining in both team member and guest areas receive service that exceeds brand standards. In terms of product delivery, you will oversee operations in all assigned experience areas, ensuring alignment with experiential ownership expectations to maintain consistency in the guest experience. Training and system utilization are key parts of this role. You will conduct consistent training for all teammates, ensuring full utilization of the Dining Reservation System & MedallionClass applications to provide a frictionless guest experience, maximize revenue, and optimize venue capacity. The manager will also ensure service sequences are being followed during meal periods and assist with guest dietary requirements as needed. As part of the management duties, you will assist in creating unbiased, efficient, and fair teammate schedules that comply with MLC regulations while supporting business demand. Monitoring staffing performance and levels in assigned dining locations will ensure smooth meal service, and you will provide support to other dining locations when necessary. Pre-service briefings will be conducted with the team to review menu content, culinary updates, beverage updates, and other relevant information for the meal period. Ensuring teammates are processing guest orders promptly and accurately through the onboard POS system is essential, along with overseeing all restaurant charges on company accounts to ensure they are processed correctly and in a timely manner. Any inconsistencies should be escalated to senior management. The manager will also be accountable for all beverage stock in the assigned location and actively provide feedback on voyage financial performance, identifying potential revenue opportunities to senior leaders.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE The ideal candidate will have significant experience in restaurant management, including minimum 2 years in an equivalent role within the cruise industry. A proven ability to lead and inspire teams, with a strong emphasis on delivering exceptional guest experiences and promoting team development, is essential. The successful candidate will posses excellent communication skills in English language and the ability to guide and motivate a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Familiarity with the Princess MedallionClass system and the Dining Reservation System is advantageous, but not essential. The ability to think critically, resolve issues efficiently, and make decisions in a professional manner is key. Experience managing diverse teams and a solid understanding of MLC regulations will be beneficial. A genuine passion for providing outstanding dining experiences, both for guests and team members, is required.
