Private Event Sales Manager – Tavernetta Vail 

 

Four Seasons Vail is excited to launch the collaboration of Four Seasons and Frasca Hospitality Group to create Tavernetta Vail. “Frasca Hospitality Group, led by Chef Lachlan Mackinnon-Patterson, Master Sommelier Bobby Stuckey, and Peter Hoglund, is dedicated to providing warm and gracious hospitality. Founded in 2004 with the goal of creating "the best neighborhood restaurant in the world," the group opened Frasca Food and Wine in Boulder, Colorado, inspired by the frascas of Italy's Friuli-Venezia Giulia region.  

The group has expanded to include the Italian- and European-inspired eateries of Pizzeria Alberico, Sunday Vinyl, and the Michelin Bib Gourmand-awarded Tavernetta in Denver. We seek to continue this expansion here with the opening of Tavernetta Vail by hiring enthusiastic, ambitious, and humble staff to uphold a culture of excellence, education, and respect.” 

About the role: 

This role will be responsible for business generation as it relates to prospecting, securing, and setting the strategy for all private events in the Restaurant. Prefer a candidate with a strong understanding of local market drive and/or proven success in prospecting. This would include events in the PDR and Full and Partial Restaurant Buyouts. This position will secure and service, through promotion and prospecting, while maintaining standards and revenue.  This position will coordinate all requirements for various restaurant events booked from in-house groups as well as the social market. Ideally, this position will be approximately 75% sales and 25% servicing. The Private Event Sales Manager is accountable for ensuring quotas and goals are met and ensuring that direct sales activities are focused on generating the maximum revenue per available room for the resort’s overall success. This position requires a high degree of independent judgement and discretion in decision-making.  

What you will do: 

Responsible for enforcing minimum spends and working with event organizer to plan the event 

Communicate the needs and expectations of the client with all departments in the hotel. 

Negotiate with clients through the use of creative and attractive menu presentations and event proposals, to achieve both maximum revenue/profit potential and fulfillment of contractual responsibilities while satisfying client needs. 

Review all event space with restaurant team to ensure satisfaction of client at the outset of all events. 

Ability to find solutions to any issues that arise throughout the planning and event process. 

What you bring: 

Must have previous luxury event sales experience.  Previous Restaurant experience preferred.   

College degree and 2+ years management or supervisory experience in Rooms or Food and Beverage Division, preferably in a luxury setting. 

Strong knowledge of the complexities of selling and competing with other mountain resorts and destinations. 

Ability to utilize computerized operational systems (PowerPoint, Ideas, Excel, Word, Outlook, FO system, Opera, and ideally Salesforce (Golden Sales & Catering). 

Self-starter, sound analyzer and problem solver.  

Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills, with a strong sense of quality and a creative mindset. 

Ability to multi-task effectively, managing multiple projects while being cognizant of deadlines and priorities. 

Develop and use good business acumen and be a good "business operator."  

The ability to be vigilantly attentive to detail, monitor quality, and be obsessively service oriented. 

The ability to be versatile, flexible, show stress management, manage criticism, and manage conflict effectively. 

The ability to be a Team Player. The ability to have interpersonal sensitivity. 

The ability to be a Public Ambassador for Four Seasons Hotels & Residences. 

Fluency in English is required for this location and this job requires applicants to have current work authorization in the in the United States.

Schedule & Hours: 

This is a full-time position based on property at Four Seasons Vail. 

The ideal candidate must be willing to work flexible hours and days of the week to support the essential functions of the department and division.
