Job Summary

The Restorative Aide provides each of his/her assigned residents with restorative nursing care and services in accordance with the resident’s assessment and care plan.

Duties and Responsibilities: Comply with the Facility’s personnel, safety, and corporate policies and procedures. Comply with the nursing department’s policies and procedures. Report witnessed allegations of resident abuse/neglect immediately to the Administrator. Treat residents, family members, visitors, and team members with dignity and respect. Maintain the confidentiality of all resident and family information. Report to work on time and as scheduled. Record all entries on flow sheets, notes, charts, etc., in an informative and descriptive manner. Use only authorized abbreviations established by this facility when recording information. Report all changes in the resident’s condition to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse as soon as practical. Completes daily, weekly and monthly documentation in accordance with restorative program guidelines with oversight by direct supervisor. Work closely with therapists to establish restorative nursing goals and interventions for the resident’s care plan. Monitor equipment and supplies utilized for the programs to ensure availability and that equipment and supplies are in good, working order. Maintain a current list of restorative programs on each unit. Provide care in accordance with the restorative aide assignment sheet. Follow work assignments, and/or work schedules in completing and performing your assigned tasks. Cooperate with inter-departmental personnel, as well as other facility personnel to ensure that nursing services can be adequately maintained to meet the needs of the residents. Assist residents to walk with or without self-help devices as instructed. Weigh and measure residents as instructed. Report injuries of an unknown source, including skin tears. Provide daily Range of Motion Exercises. Record data as instructed. Job Requirements: Must have a valid CNA certification that is in good standing with the State. Must have basic computer skills. If required to operate a motor vehicle for business purposes, must successfully complete the requirements contained in Company’s Motor Vehicles policy. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Must be able to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary. Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations. Must be able to perform the essential position functions of the job with, or without reasonable accommodation. Employee is required to use a transfer/gait belt or to obtain the assistance of another employee when attempting to assist residents when lifting or carrying objects in excess of 25 pounds. The employee must be aware that during the normal, routine performance of the essential functions, some of the following body movements may occur naturally, although hey may not be a requirement of the job.
