The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of automotive restraints systems, and a proven track record of successfully managing complex engineering projects. You'll have...
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 10+ years of experience in application engineering.
2+ years of restraints experience.

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Deep understanding of automotive safety regulations (e.g., FMVSS).
Proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Experience working with suppliers and managing supplier relationships.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with DFMEA and PFMEA processes.
Experience with automotive safety standards beyond FMVSS.
Knowledge of simulation and testing methodologies for restraint systems.

What you'll do...
Lead a team of engineers through the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to launch, ensuring adherence to robust engineering milestones and delivering high-quality foundation documents. Drive the incorporation of new technologies and innovative solutions into our restraint systems, staying ahead of industry trends and advancements. Develop and manage relationships with key suppliers, fostering collaboration and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality components. Champion continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on eliminating Field Service Actions (FSAs) and driving improvements in overall product quality. Provide technical support for stop ships, stop builds, and plant quality issues, proactively identifying and resolving root causes. Collaborate closely with the Vehicle Crash Safety (VCS) team to develop efficient and compliant content across all commodities, ensuring adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements (e.g., FMVSS). Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning. Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources effectively. Participate in regular design reviews and technical discussions.
