Summary (Major Purpose of the Role): Working in conjunction with Directors and RVP for the retail accounts team, meet and exceed revenue, gross margin, and contribution margin goals for assigned retail accounts through implementation of strategic initiatives and account management with a specific focus on location level sales.

 

 

Main Activities/Responsibilities:

Identify and close opportunities within the customer base to meet and exceed revenue, gross margin and contribution margin goals through account analysis, interaction with key decision makers within customer base, and through use of knowledge of industry and product offeringNurture and develop relationships across key decision makers and influencers within established account base through in person and virtual meetings ensuring that interactions are meaningful and drive forward initiatives and sales goalsCollaborate with other departments, including but not limited to product management, supply chain, buyers, forecasting, marketing etc. to develop and create efficiencies or improvements within the customer experience or in the improvement of financial goals as it relates to the customer baseIdentify opportunities to increase value through the presentation of pre-developed programs and initiativesUtilize relationships to secure appropriate champions for key sales initiatives and to achieve required outcomesProvide consistent visibility, accessibility and value to the customer base through an individualized customer service experienceParticipate in industry related activities including but not limited to tradeshows, industry organizations, local and regional meetings as neededAnalyze and create reports as requiredLog and maintain required information in Sf.com as requested

 

Competencies:

Industry expertise preferred, including knowledge of CPG industry, use of POS data, Nielson usage.Experience with Top Retail accounts such as Walmart, Shoppers Drug Mart, etc. is an asset.    Understanding of the sales process and customer baseExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to utilize standard computer programs including but not limited to Excel and Power-pointSuperb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapportCommitment to excellent customer service

 

Reporting Relationships and Supervision:

Reports directly to the Regional Vice President of Sales - Canada.  No direct reports.

 

Education and Experience:

BS/BA Degree Minimum of 3 years of progressive management experience in a Territory Leadership Role, preferably in CPG.  Must have experience in a process driven/sales force effectiveness centric sales culture environment, with proven score card metric-based results.Proven sales leadership experience in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a track record of success growing regional/territory revenue and enhanced margins.Ability to travel as requiredFrench speaking is an asset
