Company Profile San Antonio Shoemakers (SAS), a San Antonio, Texas based privately held company, has been in business for over 40 years and has developed a reputation as a premier American manufacturer of high quality comfort footwear. Position SAS has an opening for Retail Inventory Management. The Retail Inventory Management position will be responsible for implementing inventory strategies. This person will play a key role in helping the company achieve sales and inventory turn goals. The Retail Inventory Management position will report to Head of Merchandising and work with Retail, Wholesale, Sales operations, Forecasting and Production scheduling in order to maximize sales through excellent execution of all merchandise related areas. Job Responsibilities + Ensure proper stock levels at each store location + Maintain dynamic monitoring and reporting of actual performance to plan in dollars and units. Provide merchandising analysis to Senior Management. + Establish and utilize best methods (statistical models and software tools) in creating store forecasts and inventory targets. + Develop action plans based on sales performance trends to impact line-planning process, influence assortment strategies and product merchandising. + Provide analysis and reporting on product trends (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and seasonally) to help determine merchandising strategies. + Analyze historical data and current trends to identify risks and opportunities. + Assist with resolution of inventory issues/questions from retail stores and distribution center + All other duties as assigned. Job Qualifications + Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills: ability to communicate with high level executives. + Strong analytical skills. + Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word. Experience with Microsoft AX and Retail Pro. + Strong ability to take initiative, ownership and accountability for the business with a high sense of urgency. + Skilled in writing clear, concise, grammatically correct copy + Ability to work in a team environment is essential. + Ability to work well under pressure with crucial deadlines. Physical Requirements + Must be able to lift 30 lbs. + Must be able to sit or stand for 8 – 10 hours. + Manual dexterity and coordination + Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as viewing a computer, visual inspection, and prepare and analyze projects. + Comfortable using a computer. Education & Experience Requirements + College degree preferred + Minimum 3 years of experience in Merchandise Planning, Retail Inventory Control and/or Accessories Buying in a retail environment, preferably in shoes industry or fashion merchandising.
