Provide health & safety strategy & leadership to the approximately 685 company owned retail stores. The Team Leader will be responsible for the development, implementation, strategy & leadership of comprehensive health, safety & ergonomics systems that protect associates. This position contributes to retail stores & success by leading development & execution of best in class safety culture & performance. He/She should model & acts in accordance with retail business & safety principles. Has knowledge & experience in interpretation of S&E regulations.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Leadership & Strategy: Set & create the direction for overall retail S&H strategic & tactical plans. Create & instill a zero injury culture. Identify key opportunities (risk to associates, number of incidents, financial impact) & deliver plan's to correct.

Establish systems to eliminate injuries & at-risk behaviors to all retail associates.

Plans & manages business unit processes & practices to ensure that programs are aligned with the business goals & objectives.

 

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering or related field. Certified Safety Professional.

 

Experience:

5+ years' experience in safety & industrial health. 5 years' experience working with business unit & strategic planning preferred. Experience developing, implementing & maintaining safety programs. Experience in measuring safety to effectively plan, organize & control multiple projects & tasks. Multi-unit, multi-state experience a plus. 

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strong knowledge of OHSA, state & federal safety regulations, process risk assessment & root cause analysis skills. Effective knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Ability to communicate with all levels of management. Excellent interpersonal, presentation & communication skills, both verbal & written. Stay current on all safety & health issues.
