PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Responsible for managing, developing, expanding the retail sales accounts to increase volume, profit margin and expand product line. Manage existing customer relationships and solicit new business within assigned Retail account portfolio. Manage new and existing broker networks. Develop and implement plans to achieve pricing, mix and profit goals for Wayne Sanderson Farms LLC.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

Develop and implement sales and marketing strategy on an annual basis.  Plan should include growth goals by category, marketing/promotional calendar, Ad activity by quarter, and other activities necessary to increase profitable business.Establish annual budget for promotional/marketing activities.  Plan, carry out, and support those agreed upon promotions, activities, product launches to agreed budgets and timescales.  Provide the necessary efforts to complete successfully.Work closely with category and marketing specialist to determine the level of support needed to successfully drive business.Respond to all sales inquiries and manage all deviated pricing using proper procedures. Communicate internally and externally to facilitate the development of profitable business/product opportunities and relationships.Communicate sales and marketing strategy to brokers and manage their efforts in accordance with planned objectives. Hold semi - annual performance review with each broker to discuss performance, new goals, and areas of improvement.Monitor and report on market and competitor activities and provide relevant information.Attend training as necessary to develop knowledge, techniques, and skills to become an expert in the retail segment.Coordination of large projects leveraging internal departments and resources with external vendors and customers.Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

•     Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Culinary, Hospitality, Food Management, or other related field from an accredited institution.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Minimum five (5) years’ sales or industry experience in the retail channel; previous poultry experience preferred

Technical Skills:

Skills in decision-making and presenting recommendations to Sales Management and other executives.Ability to work independently and functioning effectively with minimum direction/supervision.Proven analytical, decision-making skills, and ability to work in highly-collaborative, team-oriented environment.Strong degree of self-confidence and appropriate level of aggressiveness in accomplishing job duties.Ability to function as an independent self-starter, while demonstrating appropriate level of professional maturity.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong knowledge and use of social media to drive expanded business applications. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related computer applications specifically Excel and PowerPoint.Ability to learn and apply sales techniques.High work capacity, dependable, results oriented and strong sense of urgency.Demonstrated sound work ethic, high degree of personal integrity, honesty and moral character.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

Follow departmental and company safety policies and programsMust wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in areas where required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to travel up to 75%.Frequently sit for long periods of time utilizing office equipment and/or computers.
