Retrofit Solutions Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY:

As part of the Lifecycle Services team, the Retrofit Solutions Specialist is responsible for oversight of all aspects of retrofits. This position is accountable for the overall success of the retrofits business revenue growth.  The incumbent is responsible for gathering and generating new machine retrofit ideas, while technically supporting existing retrofits. This position is the hub for retrofit communications with engineering, sales, service, training, technical support and customers.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Grow Retrofits Portfolio

Identify opportunities, products, and programs to enhance and grow the retrofit business. Identify and prioritize the development of retrofit offerings across the Marlen portfolio of machines. Work with engineering to review ideas, concepts, and models Work with Technical Services to understand installation, commissioning, and customer requirements Assess and prioritize retrofit offerings based on supply chain, market size and opportunity

 

Grow Retrofits Sales

Meet or exceed retrofit revenue and profit targets as defined in Marlen’s strategic plan Identify and prioritize opportunities to generate revenue through design and component upgrades. Manage opportunities and customer information through use of CRM & Entytle software Ensure timely entry of new opportunities Manage the sales pipeline Develop methods to improve discovery and reduce quote turnaround time Continually ensure customer and retrofit data is accurate and up to date

Marketing

Partner with the Customer Service department to sell retrofit offerings. Collaborate with the Marketing department to design promotional materials that communicate value proposition of each enhancement and retrofit. Work with sales team to present retrofit solutions during customer visits and FATs. Develop and continuously improve retrofit catalog for customer and inside sales usage. Promote other aftermarket business offerings: Installation and other technical services Spare and replacement components/parts Machine Audit programs Training programs

 

Customer support

Build strong relationships with customers, visit sites as needed to develop quotes, close-sales, and assist customers. Meet and correspond with customers to ensure that their needs and expectations are fully understood, documented, and fulfilled. Support sales in all retrofit pre-order activities.

 

Retrofit Project Management

Coordinate project kick-off/release meetings with all departments involved in the retrofit project process. Develop retrofit installation timeline and cost estimates. Be the internal technical support point of contact for all things retrofit, including technical questions, installation assistance and implementation for the entire duration of the retrofit project. Work with the Documentation department to ensure the accuracy of operation manuals, to include new retrofit changes and modifications. Utilize financial reporting and metrics required to accurately measure results of individual projects and of the retrofit product line. Utilize Quality Improvement process to reduce future manufacturing overruns and machine and retrofit installation challenges. Continuously self-develop relevant technical and customer service skills.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: 

Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Experience in sales, engineering discipline, assembly, or related fields. Knowledge of automation machines and machine components. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Critical thinker with innovative problem-solving skills and creative mindset. Highly computer literate with proficiency in MS Office and related business/communication tools. High degree of self-organizational and time management skills Creative mindset. Meticulous attention to detail. Travel up to 25%

Very strong understanding of Electrical, Mechanical, Pneumatic, Hydraulic and automation Customer Focus Communication proficiency Professional and customer friendly telephone manner Teamwork Computer proficiency – Office 365 (particularly Excel), CRM (Salesforce, Entytle, SyteLine) Proficiency in multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk or hear; uses hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls.  On occasion, may be required to climb and work in high places, stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders.  The incumbent must occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
