Returns & Quality Control Auditor (Inventory Quality Auditor)

 

 

 

The Returns & Quality Control Auditor is responsible for auditing outbound shipments to ensure compliance with client-specific packaging and shipping requirements, as well as processing and evaluating returned merchandise. This role supports both quality control and returns operations by verifying order accuracy, documenting audit findings, and ensuring proper return procedures are followed. Auditors use internal systems and Microsoft Office tools to maintain accurate records and communicate results.

 

YOUR TASKS Conduct random audits of outbound shipments to verify labels, packing slips, product SKUs, and packaging standards based on client-specific SOPs. Document all audit results in the internal database and generate reports for internal teams and clients. Receive and unpack returned merchandise, assess item and packaging condition, and confirm proper documentation is included. Sort and distribute returned merchandise to the correct location based on item condition, value, and reason for return. Enter clear and concise notes in customer account systems, detailing return reasons and any relevant feedback. Identify and escalate any critical inventory or process issues to team leads or supervisors. Assist in training team members on return and audit procedures to ensure consistency and compliance. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company safety policies. Perform general data entry and assist with special projects or tasks as assigned to support department goals. YOUR PROFILE High School Diploma or GED required. 1–2 years of experience in returns processing, inventory control, or quality auditing preferred. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions precisely. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Access. Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is a plus. Strong analytical skills and a process-improvement mindset. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and be comfortable with physical tasks.
