GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Revenue Cycle Director at Whitney Young Health supervises and coordinates all aspects of the revenue cycle for the organization; including, billing and collections.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Hires, evaluates, trains and supervises personnel specific to work activities related to: Cash Collections and Patient/Third Party Billing and collection
+ Collaborates with practice managers to develop and monitor procedures to ensure accurate input and collection of patient information, and to maximize individual and third party reimbursement, and identify and reduce errors.
+ Monitors and reports on cash collections and denials by plan on a monthly basis, establishes targets and implements improvement processes to meet or beat targets.
+ Oversees ongoing processing of patient encounters, month-end close, report generation and routine billing schedule in accordance with specified deadlines.
+ Ensures the accuracy of all patient account financial data of the Health Center.
+ Establishes and implements a system for the collection of delinquent/denied accounts ensuring that payors are contacted and accounts are turned over to collections in a timely manner.
+ Reviews and reports on current status of patient accounts to identify and resolve billing and processing problems in a timely manner.
+ Ensure that CPT/diagnoses/ADA codes are up to date and reflect changes in WYH programs.
+ Works with the Accounting Department to ensure that information regarding revenue, cash receipts and receivables is transferred correctly.
+ Develops a strong working relationship with payors to understand payor requirements and investigates new services.
+ Utilizes practice management system to maximum efficiency to improve work flow.
+ Oversees quality control of work performed by staff and develops improvement process to address quality problems.
+ Work with credentialing company and Human Resources to ensure that all providers and practice sites are properly credentialed with payors.
+ Apprise CFO of weaknesses in internal controls and propose specific remedies to improve.
+ Demonstrates excellence in both internal and external customer service.
+ Understands and is able to effectively communicate HIPAA compliance, corporate compliance and client confidentiality.
+ Ensures and/or remains in compliance with local, state, and federal regulation,
+ i.e. OASAS, NYSDOH. Adheres to the National Patient Safety Goals as defined by the Joint Commission and the Whitney M. Young Jr. Health Center.
+ Completes other duties as assigned.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree required but will accept five (5) to seven (7) years of progressively responsible revenue cycle billing and collections experience in a complex outpatient setting and with automated systems may be substituted for a degree; solid experience in staff supervision and training. Technical expertise with HIPAA codes and transaction sets. Strong experience with PC applications such as Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent oral and written skills, well organized and efficient. Ability to work in team environment to promote cohesiveness and process improvement.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified Professional Coder (CPC), experience with integrated Practice Management and Electronic Medical Records Systems, report writer and PC applications.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $110,000 annually
