Revenue Cycle Liaison

Position Summary:

 The Revenue Cycle Liaison is responsible for ensuring all WPHPA locations adhere to revenue cycle policies and confirm best practice initiatives are followed. This role will serve as a liaison between revenue cycle and the WPHPA off site practice locations.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following:

Understands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and Behaviors. Demonstrates a complete understanding of all Insurance companies, their policies, guidelines and contracts. Takes initiative to remain informed of changes in coding rules/guidelines, actively reads/researches and keeps abreast of changes in the industry. Attend all new user Cadence classes presenting revenue cycle initiatives. Work with billing team to develop training material. Provide support during new practice go-lives. Round with new users and off-site locations to ensure best practice initiatives set forth by Revenue Cycle are followed. As part of rounding in practice’s the liaison will ensure users are adhering to WPH dress code policy and aligned with patient satisfaction initiatives. Develop a practice scorecard for use during rounding with practice locations. Manage front end related WQ’s utilizing this information to educate the front end. Work with Billing manager to ensure each practice adheres to the Payment Reconciliation policy. Trains new managers payment reconciliation workflow and ensures compliance. Identify/trend denials and provides recommendations to improve processes and provide additional training to front end staff. Serve as resource to front-end and managers for any Revenue Cycle inquiries Keeps abreast of all new Cadence functionality and provides training and guidance to current and new practice employees. Attend all WPHPA new user orientations. Coordinate with WP IT training department and ensure Revenue Cycle concepts are introduced in an attempt to reduce front end causing denials and insurance concepts. Collaborates with MIT Cadence trainers to ensure WPHPA workflows are incorporated into new user training. Introduce best practices, ensure the front-end users understand their role in the orconaziation and how they contribute to the revenue cycle and patient satisfaction. Performs all other related duties as assigned.

 

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years billing experience preferred.

• High school graduate or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

• Demonstrates understanding of revenue cycle and the impact of front-end.

• Demonstrates skills in problem assessment, and resolution and collaborative problem solving in complex, interdisciplinary settings.

• Ability to work collectively with a diverse staff and patient/family populations, strong customer service skills, demonstrating tact and sensitivity in stressful situations.

• Proficiency in health insurance eligibility as it pertains to Medicare and Medicaid regulations, insurance and managed care reimbursement concepts and overall operational impact.

• Knowledge of basic medical terminology required.

Physical/Mental Demands/Requirements & Work Environment:

May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital’s SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospital’s Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc. Ability to perform computer work for extensive periods of time Occasionally move and/or transport of 15 to 20 pounds Requires movement about the department frequently throughout the day Requires travel to other departments as needed for training, meetings etc. Ability to remain in stationary position for extended periods of time Ability to respond to frequent phone calls
