Revenue Cycle Manager
Description: Manages Revenue Cycle; hires, trains, disciplines, and supervises and coordinates workload and productivity of the assigned staff. Conducts performance evaluations of assigned staff. Monitors revenue/billing cycle to ensure all claims are submitted and reimbursed accurately and promptly including resolution of denied claims and resubmissions to insurance companies. Oversees/monitors any external billing vendor(s) and service(s) related to the Billing and Coding groups. Insures timely and accurate posting of charges, insurance payments, patient payments, collections payments and other grant/managed care or other reimbursement. Manages accounts receivables and overdue balances on patient accounts; performs review of all patient accounts and makes necessary adjustments or refers to further collection action. Ensures monthly balancing of accounts receivable. Continually updates information regarding billing issues and trends; communicates new information to staff in a clear, concise and accurate manner. Participates in updating the charge master fee schedule; implements billing, coding and collection policies and procedures. Participates and decision making on any rule changes in Providence Professional Billing Claims and Billing related Governance and Revenue Cycle user forums as needed. Provides Accounting Manager with monthly billing transaction activity reports and advises Accounting Manager of potential problems, requirements for expanded services and status of current systems on an ongoing basis. Communicates with the Health Center Managers about front desk issues that improves the revenue cycle process in the back office. Communicates, in writing, monthly coding updates and billing reminders to the entire practice. Reviews and resolves patient inquiries, and makes billing adjustments; tracks and monitors any billing problems to ensure timely resolution. Oversee internal billing and coding audits. Produces internal month end and other internal reconciliation functions as needed--such as with Accounting. Coordinate external and internal compliance and reconciliation audits. Educates and shares proper billing and collection practices with the physician and non-physician staff. Prepares accounts for insurance and patient refunds in a timely manner. Conducts and/or coordinates coding and billing education for all billing and clinic staff as is needed. Audits charges and receipts posted to patient accounts, noting posting errors made by receptionists, and educates front office team leader regarding correct posting procedures. Completes and maintains credentialing applications for existing providers at governmental, insurance agencies as well as hospital privileges. TTJD: EPIC, FQHC, Management (good with 2 of the 3) Nice to Have: healthcare management (insurance follow up, coding, diverse experience as a whole) Day to day: workflow management, work on projects, provide training and education, up to date medicaid/medicaire, work with director and Peggy (reimbursement administrator), CFO, accounting team, work on provider relation, claims/escalation, being flexible and work as a team. Revenue cycle management (key stakeholder) - analyze billing software, EPIC (different modules). Medical primary/behaviorial health providers: 10b and 70+ medical primary, overall 100 providers.
