This position is responsible for overseeing 24/7 registration operations for scheduled patients, walk-in, and Emergency Department patients. This role ensures efficient and accurate patient registration, maintains high standards of customer service, and manages a team of registration staff to provide seamless operations around the clock.. Provides departmental administrative decision making, leadership, and strategic planning, including the efficient and productive use of personnel and other financial resources. Ensures high quality standardized work processes that result in consistent outcomes that compare favorably with relevant national benchmarks. The incumbent must possess strong subject matter expertise and leadership in order to support a diverse and complex operating environment and span of control.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management: Supervise and lead a team of registration staff, providing training, support, and performance evaluations to foster a patient-centered culture. Operational Oversight: Ensure all registration processes are completed accurately and efficiently, prioritizing patient comfort and satisfaction. Customer Service Excellence: Maintain and promote high standards of customer service, addressing patient concerns promptly and ensuring a positive experience for every patient. Patient Experience: Implement strategies to enhance the patient experience, including reducing wait times and improving communication. Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues that arise during the registration process, using strong problem-solving skills to ensure smooth operations. Strong Communication: Facilitate clear and effective communication between patients, registration staff, and other healthcare professionals. Team Member Experience: Foster a collaborative work environment that prioritizes teamwork and synergy, ensuring staff feel valued and supported as they work together to achieve common goals.. Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulations, and quality standards, with a focus on patient safety and satisfaction. Scheduling and Staffing: Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure 24/7 coverage and optimal staffing levels, ensuring that patient needs are met at all times. Data Management: Oversee the accurate entry and management of patient data in the hospital's information systems, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy. • Requires strong knowledge of business and reimbursement management with an undergraduate degree preferred.
•At least three years of experience with hospital or physician billing strongly preferred.
• Requires demonstrable knowledge of healthcare billing terminology concepts and processes.
• Requires the ability to plan and manage the utilization of resources.
