Revenue Cycle Spec- FT Days (reaves)
The Revenue Cycle Specialist is responsible for ensuring timely availability of all documentation for coding. The Specialist acts as a liaison between coding and billing. Responsible for monthly Financial Chart Audits and Quality Audits. Knowledge of CPT and ICD coding is preferred. Reviews AR reports for facilities in order to make recommendations. Facilitates good will by building and sustaining positive communication among facilities and departments. Assists facility leaders with inquiries as a result of placed accounts through various processes. Prepares for new facility implementation. Develops rapport and relationships with assigned facilities. Looks for areas where the facilities can improve recovery rates. Remains abreast of any changes with providers in relation to their assigned hospitals. Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. At least 1 year of experience in collections. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word and preferred knowledge of FACS, Meditech, McKesson Series, AS400, HCAPA and McKesson Star or other collection software.
