Revenue Cycle Specialist

The Revenue Cycle Specialist serves as the backbone for managing the end-to-end revenue cycle process by being responsible for billing, claims processing, payment posting and collections. The position supports the agency by ensuring accurate financial transactions, compliance with billing regulations, and efficient reimbursement for services provided. A knowledge of billing from admission to discharge that helps effectively resolve or prevent issues is highly valued. For the times when issues occur, a patient, committed, tenacious mindset to follow through in resolving them is required.The role requires a high degree of organization, attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and a desire to be part of a dynamic finance team dedicated to helping the agency run efficiently and effectively. What it’s like to work at the Rescue Mission of Trenton: Rescue Mission of Trenton was founded in 1915 and is a non-profit organization that helps rescue people from themselves and their situations. Our dedicated staff in the Shelter and our Behavioral Health Unit offer care, support and encouragement to all that reside here. We value dignity, communication and helping each of our clients reach their full potential. Clients/residents are assisted by staff with treatment options, medical help, job placement, financial planning, education, counseling and mental health treatment. Our staff works diligently with the clients to get ID, an income and the things necessary to help them with transitioning to housing and their recovery journey. Qualifications for Position: • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, finance, accounting, or a related field (or equivalent experience).• 2+ years of experience in revenue cycle management, medical billing, or financial operations, preferably in a nonprofit or healthcare setting.• Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and private insurance billing processes.• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.• Proficiency in billing software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a mission-driven environment. Qualified Candidates Should Have Experience In, Or Be Able To Do, The Following: • Knowledge of health care/behavioral health end-to-end billing processes is required and previous work in a nonprofit experience is a plus• Qualified to manage all aspects of the revenue cycle, including patient eligibility verification, claims submission, payment processing, collections management and accounts receivable• Firm understanding of compliance with Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, and grant-funded billing requirements with an understanding of SUD, MH and Housing Supports,• Significant experience in reviewing and resolving claim denials, discrepancies, and rejections in a timely manner• Has maintained accurate records of billing transactions and financial reports• Has demonstrated experience in leading, training or collaborating with internal departments to ensure proper documentation, front-end billing and coding for services rendered• Proven to be adept at monitoring revenue cycle trends and recommending to leadership process improvements to maximize efficiency and reimbursements• Experience in assisting with audits and reporting related to billing and financial compliance• Recognized desire to stay updated on changes in billing regulations and payer policies• Excellent spreadsheet skills with an inner drive for continual improvement in both technical and non- technical skill development Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8am-4pm
