Position Purpose
This position is responsible for the development and coordination of initial training, continued staff development and competency assessment of all revenue cycle employees. This position executes support in the implementation of processes which improve standardization, retention and development of revenue cycle staff. In addition, this position ensures the hospitals cash flow needs are met through efficient delivery of a defined and unified training program. This position serves as a resource for all revenue cycle departments.
Nature and Scope
Under the general direction of a Revenue Cycle Director, or designated Training Supervisor, the Revenue Cycle Trainer is responsible for overseeing the establishment of procedures for all education, training, orientation, competency and QA functions for new and existing Revenue Cycle personnel in order to ensure efficient workflows that meet department standards.
Monitors current systems to ensure the Revenue Cycle personnel are utilizing systems to their maximum potential. Identifies and communicates deficiencies in automated procedures and reports them on bi-weekly or monthly basis. Randomly audits Revenue Cycle personnel to ensure individuals are utilizing systems and follow-up procedures accurately to ensure account resolution. This position will also work with leadership to identify larger trends and opportunities for additional training or education to resolve issues.
This position is responsible for ensuring that the hospitals cash flow needs are met through the efficient delivery of a defined and unified training and orientation program for all revenue collection functions across the continuum of Renown Health that leads to a decrease in denials and underpayments and increases the optimal efficiency of the revenue collection transactions.
This position creates and administers revenue cycle training and education programs as well as ongoing professional development opportunities such as internal certification, career ladders, etc. This position has the authority to make specific choices about training and department specific orientation practices and identifies areas in training where review is required based on new workflows or systems. The Trainer also has the authority to recommend the development of new and/or modified registration, billing, follow up and collection systems, and customer service processes. Matters that will be referred for additional approval include major changes that affect revenue cycle policies in existence, alterations to contracts and budgets in accordance with established guidelines.
This position does not provide patient care.
SUMMARY:
Individual is a master using the EMR system and other systems utilized by Revenue Cycle personnel.
Comprehensive understanding of Revenue Cycle workflows.
Works with Revenue Cycle leaders to ensure employees have appropriate workflow knowledge to do their job upon hire.
Support new and current Revenue Cycle personnel with Epic set-up and workflows established by leadership.
Support teams to ensure employees are aware of appropriate workflows and expectations to improve efficiency and advance Renown Health initiatives.
Assist in any classes and provide one-on-one training as needed. Additionally, the Trainer will round with employees regularly and as needed to review new and existing workflows and answer any related questions.
Work with IT and Epic Non-clinical trainers to optimize Epic training for new employees. Review and update Tip Sheets and other training materials so they remain current and relevant to Revenue Cycle employees.
Attend Meetings deemed appropriate by leadership so that all aspects of Revenue Cycle employees are understood.
Support employees identified by leadership in need of workflow assistance for regulatory measures.
Serve as the contact, when discrepancies, opportunities or other issues arise regarding workflows and education.
Create educational content including, but not limited to, tip sheets, standard works, videos, and other forms of media.

11. Ability to coordinate the activities of Revenue Cycle personnel in order to insure the most proficient cycling of registration, billing and subsequent payment of patient accounts.
12. Ability to schedule, meet and maintain daily and monthly routines, assign personnel and maintain integrity of records as it relates to the department orientation, training, QA and annual competency validation process.
13. Work schedule flexibility required as training and support may be required outside of business hours.
14. Ability to meet deadlines.

Education:
Demonstrated ability to read, write, and speak English and perform basic math skills. Bachelors Degree in Education, Business Administration, Public Administration, Management or Healthcare Information related fields required. Equivalent healthcare experience can replace education requirement.
Experience:
One year health care financial experience required. Training and education experience preferred in all aspects of Patient Access/Business Office functions including registration, billing and follow-up. EPIC and OnBase Scanning experience required.
License(s):

Certification(s):
CHAA or CHAM Certification preferred.
Computer / Typing:
Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
