The Revenue Recovery Specialist under the supervision of the Patient Financial Services Manager, acts as a liaison between the health system and payer for issues pertaining to reimbursement. This liaison work includes but is not limited to analyzing claims data, obtaining and giving feedback to internal departments dealing with payer issues, and working escalated denied claims. This role has a strong emphasis on correcting issues at the core to prevent future occurrences which comes from investigational work and strong multi-dimensional thinking. Proficiency in various reporting software and Excel spreadsheets is necessary for identifying trends and tracking outcomes which are regularly reported to the organization. Great communication skills and the ability to collaborate with other people both internally and externally is a must.

This position requires full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of the Blessing Health System. ICARE standards must be demonstrated. Adherence to Code of Conduct and other policies is required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education/Training/Experience: REQUIRED: High school graduate or equivalent Excellent typing skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent customer service skills, ability to independently problem-solve, and perform basic mathematical calculations Positive interpersonal relationship skills required Comprehensive knowledge of health care customer service, regulatory requirements and Provider Dispute and/or Member Appeal process. Working knowledge and a thorough understanding of denial resolution strategies and payer reimbursement specifics Knowledge of CPT/HCPC, ICD9/10 coding, procedures and guidelines Comprehensive analytical skills Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other office products Team player PREFERRED: Bachelors in Healthcare / Health Sciences related field, Business, or Finance Medical Terminology preferred Two years of Patient Financial Services experience preferred License/Certifications/Special Requirements: None Pay Status: NON-EXEMPT HOURLY
