Revenue Reporting Supervisor

Job Title:             Supervisor Accounting – Revenue Reporting

Department:      Revenue Accounting

 

Summary: This position will supervise & develop personnel with high-level focus on lease revenue analytics, reporting and accruals. 

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervise the daily activities and staff of the revenue reporting team to ensure deadlines are metEnsure compliance with applicable policies and review contracts to ensure that revenue is recorded in compliance with US GAAPEnsure all revenue-related policies and procedures are documented and followed and create workflow processes between team membersEnsure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and internal control processes and monitoring proceduresManage, coordinate, and review internal and external audit requests and follow-up; assist with reporting as assignedProvide input to strategic decisions that affect the numerous revenue streamsReview revenue accruals for accuracy and compliance with contracts prior to posting into the Accounting SoftwareMaintain a close working relationship with Production, Division Order, and Operational departments and communicate effectively to resolve any escalated issues that ariseReview quarterly and year end reports for Financial Reporting & SEC teamsMonitor and oversee the month end accruals and revenue reporting close processesPresent monthly accrual vs actual PPA reports to various departments and upper managementAssist with the preparation of monthly volumetric reportingPrepare monthly general ledger reconciliations, coordinate team analytics and assist in reconcilingReview journal entries related to payouts, A&D activity, revenue reclass, etc.Identify, improve, create, and communicate areas for automation and process improvements to enhance efficiency in the revenue accrual processes Mentor, coach and develop team members along their career path and coordinate the training of new team membersSupervise, direct, and review the work of team members, while addressing personnel issues and managing hiring needsOther responsibilities and reporting as assigned by management

 

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in AccountingMinimum five (5+) years of Oil and Gas Accounting experienceAt least five (5+) years of demonstrated experience in Microsoft Office, (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)Experience with SAP

Preferred Qualifications:

Supervisory experience preferredExperience in a similar revenue reporting focused positionTeam-oriented individualStrong analytical, problem solving, and collaborative skillsAbility to suggest and implement process improvements to increase effectiveness while ensuring SOX complianceCommunication skills to effectively work with all levels of an organizationFlexible regarding workload and prioritiesAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
