Collectively, each program, unit, division and group work together to provide the core services to taxpayers of the State of Louisiana and stakeholders of the agency. LDR is comprised of the following groups: Tax Collection, Charitable Gaming, Alcohol and Tobacco Control (ATC), Debt Recovery, Louisiana Tax Free Shopping Commission and Use Tax Commission for Remote Sellers. The Field Audit Sales Tax Division (FAST) is responsible for auditing compliance with all taxes and fees associated with Louisiana General Sales and Use Tax as well as other similar transactional type business taxes yet to be determined. ABOUT THIS POSITION: Duties include, but are not limited to: + This position independently and with minimal supervision researches and distributes audit leads, maintains a sufficient inventory of audit assignments, and ensures that productive audits are followed up. + This position performs research of state tax law and tax issues to identify material tax issues, tax avoidance measures, and areas of non-compliance in all areas of Louisiana tax types. + This position performs research and analysis of any and all information available (both electronic and otherwise) to identify taxpayers, entities and businesses that are making sales or providing services in Louisiana that are not registered with the Louisiana Department of Revenue to collect and remit the appropriate taxes. + This position prepares technical tax training modules for the rest of the Division; travels to regional offices and delivers presentations; and assists the Revenue Tax Auditor Manager and Revenue Tax Director with administrative duties such as developing and maintaining division manuals and preparing activity reports and proposals for improvement. + This position updates audit templates to ensure that they are consistent with the applicable statutes, regulations, and policy documents. This includes audit schedules, audit comments, and audit programs. + This position tracks Delta service requests submitted on behalf of the division and tests Delta changes as they are implemented. + Other duties as assigned by the Revenue Tax Auditor Manager or Director.
