Reward Consultant

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Reward Consulting team at Mercer. This role will be based in London. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

The Reward Consultant role will assist clients with a range of reward related challenges. The role will have direct accountability for the project management of strategic consulting projects as well as leading smaller, standardised projects independently. The role will combine reward expertise and strong inter-personal skills with analytical know-how to enable the delivery of bespoke advice to some of the world’s largest and most renowned firms.

We will count on you to:

Project manage and provide technical expertise on some of our largest and most complex projects. Independently manage small, standardised reward projects with little to no input from more senior consultants. Projects span across the broad suite of reward related activities e.g. job evaluation, grading, job architecture, compensation benchmarking and incentive design.Act as a liaison between the Mercer project team and the client. Participates in meetings with clients, including fact-finding interviews and presentations.Perform data analysis using advanced dynamic Excel modelling.Review Excel exhibits, PowerPoint presentations and initial conclusions prepared by analysts, providing feedback and supporting continuous development as required.Write and structures client presentations/reports which typically require a high level of customization.Draw conclusions from the data for senior consultants’ review.Be accountable for delivery of high quality work on time and on budget.Support business development through contributing to proposals, attending pitch meetings or drafting thought pieces.May also research to solicit industry knowledge, company news, competitor reports on high level/ industry trends, etc.Support internal projects, as required.

What you need to have: 

Previous consulting experience across a variety of remuneration issues, which may include: compensation benchmarking, reward strategy / EVP development, job architecture, job analysis / evaluation, grading structure development, pay for performance and incentive plan design, career framework development, reward governance and compliance (incl. equal pay, gender pay gap reporting).  Although a background in consultancy is preferred, candidates with relevant experience within an in -house Reward role will also be considered.Advanced excel skills and an analytical mind-set.A deep track record delivering reward solutions to demanding global clients. Able to demonstrate a breadth of knowledge and experience of reward engagements with the technical skill set to drive challenging engagements forward.Track record of being a team player and building relationships at all levels internally and externally, demonstrating effective communication and integration within client organisations and internal practices.Strive to continuously update technical and project management skills.Bring a point of view and challenges the status quo / the ‘way things are done around here’, demonstrating a growth mind-set and comfort with ambiguity.
